Obstetrics and gynecology are the two surgical–medical specialties dealing with the female reproductive organs in their pregnant and non-pregnant state. Obstetrics is the medical specialty dealing with the care of all women’s reproductive tracts and their children during pregnancy (prenatal period), childbirth and the postnatal period. Gynecology is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive system (uterus, vagina, and ovaries).
At Clinique Médicale Diamant, most of obstetricians are also gynecologists, meaning they can be consulted for both specialties.
Following tests and procedures are routinely recommended / performed by our obstetrician / gynecologists:
- Pap test ( Pap test is a procedure in which cells are scraped from the cervix for examination under a microscope and is used to detect cervical cancer)

The Gynecologists can be consulted for problems related to menopause, contraception, birth control, infertility, pelvic infections, cysts from the uterus, cervix, and ovaries, etc.
They take samples for Pap smear, give prescription and advice on birth control, and also treat reproductive system disorders such as endometriosis and hormonal imbalances.
